Tired of combing messy long hair now and then! One of the best ways to resolve it is by making a fishtail braid. Making a fishtail braid isn’t only about organizing the disordered hair; it is a complete hairstyle and has been quite popular over the years. Nowadays it is often associated with small school going girls and it also looks nice and decent in its own way. Fishtail braid is one of the most suitable hairstyle for casual wear.
How To Make A Fishtail Braid
Step 1: Step 1
First of all you need to untangle your locks as much as possible. After combing them, divide your hair into two equal halves down the back through center partition.
Step 2: Step 2
Now take a small outer section of hair from any of the two halves and cross it over to the inside of the other section. The section that you have crossed over will now become a part of the other half. It is important to keep the crossed section tight; otherwise the hair may come out once you have finished braiding.
Step 3: Step 3
This is the same step as the previous one except this time you will take the section from the other half around which the first section was crossed. Similar to the first section, cross it over to the inside of the opposite half. Again, don’t forget to keep the crosses tight.
Step 4: Step 4
Repeat the above two steps likewise. Continue crossing small sections over to the opposite half until only a few hairs are left. The smaller the sections, the more perfect the braid will end up. Once you feel that the sections are getting too small, stop braiding. This should be around 2-3 inches from bottom of the braid.
Step 5: Step 5
Once you have finished making your braid and have reached the bottom, tie it off with an elastic band. A thin, prominent band would be preferred but you can use any kind of hair tie to finish off your braid.
Now that you have done with braiding, you can give it a nice finishing touch by using colorful clips or other accessories over the head. It is a simple classic style that you can easily make. If you have never tried it, now is the time!
